In most other countries, since prices are shown including all taxes you can often have the money ready while waiting in line etc.

Trains in London in 1992 had announcements using recorded voice clips, so I'm surprised BART chose this synthesized system. Perhaps it sounded more futuristic than plain recordings? https://youtube.com/watch?v=vW3hheSm

The ferries in Denmark that funny use diesel are nice. No awful fumes for passengers, crew or local residents. Why shouldn't Scotland also enjoy this improvement?

In The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin, the anarchists have names assigned at birth by a computer, guaranteed to be unique. They are gender-neutral (I think their artificial language doesn't have the possibility for gendered names) an

The first party I attended in Denmark started at 6pm. I knew arriving promply was important, then I found about half the guests chatting in the park opposite the host's house at 5.55pm ready for an on-the-dot arrival.

I think you show identification (like when buying alcohol) when buying the phone/contract, and the block is removed. Or, this can be done later.

Vinyl records are easily damaged. A CD collection would be fine, and depending on the genre might be available fairly cheaply second hand, or could be recorded onto CD-R.

I was recently a guest staying at an elderly woman's large house. The room I slept in was full of junk, but what caught my eye were envelopes with stamps from the 1950s/1960s. The "From" name was the woman's late hu

IPv6 clients would not go through a CGNAT (or any other NAT) to connect to a remote IPv6 address. Including on Starlink. Exceptions are so unusual you should provide a specific example of an ISP with this configuration.

I think you misunderstand. CGNAT is IPv4. IPv6 is sometimes (often?) provided alongside, because of the limitations of a CGNAT IPv6 connection.

You can buy a 10TB+ external drive which uses RAID1. You can also buy a computer with this — not a laptop, and I don't know about budget desktops, but on Dell's site (for example) it's just a drop-down selection box.

GMail itself will sometimes temporarily reject messages, then accept them later. I have Postfix logs showing things like "this address is receiving a high rate of email" which are later accepted.
