That's right! DC Comics is owned by Warner Brothers. In 1939 you have Namor the Sub-Mariner which is owned by Disney.

No extension in the next couple days, but there will be another 20+ year extension purchased within the next 11 years. Why? To make sure 1938 doesn't go PD. I will leave it up to the reader as an exercise to determine what is special a

Twitter is an actual company. A Mastodon server instance can be someone in their basement with no accountability.

Reminder that with Mastodon, more than with other services, you have to know and trust the server operator to respect your privacy and also to not act arbitrarily if you have a different political stance on an issue than they.

I have one app that does it, it doesn't do the corner curl, but it does do the side curl with the reverse text showing on the other side. It uses OpenGL to do it and that is how you can do it.

One way to dim the screen without activating PWM is to leave brightness at 100%, but in the monitor's panels change the custom preset for the RGB channels to a lower value like 50%. It basically has the presentation of a neutral overla

I like dark mode very much these days even during the daytime because I find staring at a bright white screen runs the risk of triggering a migraine. Dark mode screens don't do that. The contrast between pure white backgrounds and pure

It depends on the service. Github lets you add a backup email address to manage password resets, etc.

Try Here Maps. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Supports offline as well.

I understand that American chicken is not processed under sanitary conditions which is why it needs to be chlorine dipped to kill the salmonella bacteria. This was one of the big controversies about Brexit, that they would be receiving chlo

I recently powered on my model 1 B for the first time to see what it was like. The Linux desktop experience on this single core device is horrific. What is MUCH more impressive is RiscOS on it. It flies. The whole OS is written in assembler

My solution for the FB problem is to not use any FB app at all, and just use FB in the mobile browser. Why do I need an app?

Interested to learn more about the Japan angle in part 2. Twitter Japan has been censoring content for some time so the platform is stunted there. Hopefully the argument is not that Japan will ban Twitter if they don't deploy full-time

Interesting idea. I wonder if it would be better if the camera was from the side instead of the front (I know this isn't really doable for most). The thought process here is, should there be a calibration routine to compensate not just

Yes, I remember when I was a child flipping through the UHF channels on my black and white tv, visible in the snow and static on one of the channels I could see the shapes in motion of my next door neighbour playing on his Atari 2600.

You can fix that by forcing one or the other OS to use the time method the other one does. The issue is that by default one uses UTC and the other uses local system time.

For awhile now I have not wanted to use GitHub because of this tool. Why should anyone write code for Microsoft for free when Microsoft charges for software? Perhaps options like GitLab and others should be considered instead.

There are other things that can happen as well, rape is a known thing, and of course, adoption as well. Romans definitely did adopt others and give them their family name. On a tree, none of this shows.
