The malware would just disable this warning. This is the same cat & mouse game that antiviruses are already playing.

It's not that offensive, but it did have a bit of a jarring effect. I was all happy with the success and saw it as a human achievement. [1] The cheering was wonderful. But then the USA chants made me feel left out, because I'm not

02:00 UTC seems a bit of an odd choice if the goal is to have people update quickly. Something like 15:00 UTC would be better as it's 08:00 PST & 18:00 Moscow.

I would say 70 is definitely very high for an engine. Most games don't even have that many programmers overall. Although I guess this also comes down to definitions. Like do the IDE/tool builders also go under the engine team? The

Isolated families surviving does happen indeed. A good example is the Lykov family who were completely isolated for over 40 years. [1][2] However they brought with them tools made by others before starting their isolated life, like steel ax

More & better trained detective-type police can be useful, but the vast majority of any police force isn't doing detective work.

More police can help with theft, possibly with solving murders. It will do almost nothing to prevent terrorist attacks. This airport attack is a prime example of the reason why. You can put large checkpoints everywhere, but there will alway

That's exactly what more police will do. Make people feel safer, not actually be more safe. It's security theater. [1] [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Security_theater

You would soon be left without any CAs. [1] People are pretty stupid when it comes to security, and this includes people working for CAs. There have been cases where the CA private key is publicly accessible to the internet without any pass

This seems to be for Managed VM [1] only, so it's a case of better documentation & tooling, but no new functionality. You can already run arbitrary code of any language on Managed VM instances. [1] Managed VM is a sort of meet-ha

There seems to be a lack of basic fact checking in this post. In the world of Chess it took until 1996 before a computer won against the then reigning world champion, Gary Kasparov in a series of 6 matches. 1) His name is Garry Kasparov 2

This is the main feature that I use on IMDb. Rate stuff myself and explore based on rankings. Thus IMDb would be pretty much the last thing I would compare podcat to personally.

The reality is that in most cases in order to be successful you need to constantly talk to customers, both to sell and to get feedback. Having social anxiety is a pretty strong negative signal.

You're arguing semantics. Windows definitely isn't open the way GNU wants things to be open. It may not be open like you define open. However Windows does have some open properties [1] that are at risk of being taken away. When we

I am confident that almost nobody on HN will confuse Tim Sweeney for Tim Cook. Also, this is similar to lingo usage, not everyone will know what PHP is, but that doesn't mean we should start adding wikipedia definitions into the titles

The Mailgun spam rate of 37.5% [1] seems both awful and unusual as no other provider seems to suffer from this. Does anyone know if this data is flawed, or what's the story here? [1] As reported by https://www.inboxtrail.com
