But it is a scripting language! And it can draw in 2D in real time. And it is deployed to a very popular fat-client over the network. And it even looks like decent frame rate. On my quad-core machine. What is there not to be impressed with

Your point will only valid when it is possible to clone developers. Since all developers are different there is no correct way.

They explained why C++ is bad. What is wrong with CLR and JVM and all the languages for those virtual machines? What makes Rust _much_ better then C#/F#/Nemerle for example?
