Yes, it is. It's so wild to see this. For years people didn't care that much about specific terminal emulators or opinionated dotfiles. Now projects like Ghostty and Omarchy get tons of attention. I get that it's probably not

That's from June 2025. It's not relevant to current situation — prices have been rising since October 2025 due to agreements that became public in the same month.

The expensive part is DRAM chips. They drive prices for sticks.

1. I wouldn't use the word "exploiting" in relation to missing access controls. 2. Why link to a toot instead of the blog post itself?

Delightful news! I hope more vendors will follow Framework's example. I have a couple machines that get all relevant updates from LVFS, it's been an absolute game changer for me.

I am more worried about them in the long-term. Reviews are usually not as detailed as I'd like them to be (shout out to ServeTheHome – they're doing a great job in terms of that), or they're nearly impossible to find. For me

I did something similar last year. Market for mITX NAS boards is pretty bad. I went for ASRock N100DC-ITX – it has 2x SATA ports, but there's also PCIe 3 x4. The main benefits of this board were: * it's not from an obscure Chinese

A laptop without a screen for the price of a regular laptop? I get that economies of scale don't apply to something so niche, but that's just a bad deal. I'd rather get Framework Desktop.

Photos taken on an iPhone are good, unless you: * zoom in * print them * watch them on a bigger screen Sometimes I compare photos I've taken over 10 years ago with Sony NEX-5 with photos I take today with an iPhone. There's no com

Komoot was located in Germany. Workers' rights are a bit better over here. I agree that insane isn't exactly the right word for this. More like "assholish" -- this person has just switched jobs, and now they have to go t

Germany mandates two weeks' notice while person is on probation period, which is usually first 6 months. I haven't heard details about layoff package, but given sentiment I am not sure that it was great.

I don't feel like I've been Komooted. There are alternative apps that I'll switch to. However, it really sucks for employees. I know a guy who joined Komoot a few weeks before the sale, and who was among 80% fired right after

They don't refuse other manufacturers, it's quite the opposite -- GrapheneOS provides list of requirements for future device support. AFAIK Fairphone and Nothing don't fit more than a few requirements from this list. https:&

No, I don't think so and I honestly don't see how this is relevant. I am not saying that regulations are bad. It just that governments are accepting insane laws, and often they don't have mechanisms to undo what they've

What an absolutely dystopian PR flow. Shouldn't automation be somewhat useful? All these bot comments — do they really bring more value than they create distractions?

I don't agree with this conclusion. Google is fully responsible for MV3 and its' restrictions. There's no reason to shift blame away from them. Let's do a thought experiment: if OP hasn't reported it, what do you th

Art is subjective. It isn't about checking boxes and counting how many formal criteria it meets. Engineering is broad, it uses many different methods and techniques. All I am saying is that I wouldn't call someone a mathematician

You've described what sounds a lot like experimentation: observing how a black box behaves on different inputs. Conducting experiments is closely related to engineering — I don't think anyone would claim different. But engineering

Looks great! However, I'd appreciate an easier way to run it: binaries for Linux aren't standalone -- they require 3rd party dependencies to be installed. Static binaries (or maybe container image?) would be nice.

I got curious about it too, found that author actually did a write-up on that in 2020 [0]. I don't know that much about Workers, but it sounds like it's needed for analytics? [0]: https://web.archive.org/web/2
