SPARC's 2025 timeline is a joke. They haven't even started hiring engineers yet, let alone building the thing because they still have no idea how to make a big enough REBCO magnet.

I've heard good things from guys working with Nim at Nimbus/Status; precisely because the community isn't that big they have great communication with the language maintainers and can even influence future language features&#x

That sounds like the perfect situation for high speed rail; take the passengers off the slow rails completely freeing them up for freight. The high speed lines themselves would be massive loss leaders financed by the freight. Possible and d

Your use of of the Wade-Giles "Szechuan" is telling; when written as such it refers to subclass of Chinese-American food catered to American tastes. It's great food in its own right, but not what its name suggests. In Sichuan

Right, but compression itself is not an ignition source; all the compression does is generate heat, so really it's no different!

A jet turbine is a diesel engine; you could run one on straight up cooking oil the same as any other diesel engine. The same principles apply you just have a combustion chamber instead of a cylinder.

I'm doing it an a mono-hull right now. I have not tried to work on passage, but I think it would be totally doable on a cat where you could sit relatively stable and keep a watch while working.

I can sign 12 transactions with my private key now and automate sending them out every month. If I don't want to be responsible for sending the transactions, a smart contract can do it for me. This can be abstracted away from the user

You would love the UK. Many cities have steam railroads of similar gauge in public parks. They are also run by clubs of old men, but offer rides to kids all day on the weekend instead of hiding out in the hills!

Laminar go to great lengths to keep aircraft from the previous version compatible. Only occasionally developers with DRM try to scam people to buy the same plane again.

X-Plane 11 has been out for 5 years now, with regular free updates bringing meaningful improvements. X-Plane 12 is a separate product, but any add-on aircraft you have from v11 will continue to work.

X-Plane does it right, without any artificial manipulation of control inputs. It's possible MSFS had to do it wrong to make it work on an Xbox controller; you have a lot less fine control than with a yoke or joystick.

3rd party developers can only do so much. 'Study level' just isn't possible in MSFS. For example, yoke position is not linked to control surface position. Move the yoke full deflection and you only might only see the control
