I find it stunning when people claim Satoshi to be anyone other than Nick Szabo. Any reasonable person sould come to the conclusion that it is him. There is plenty of direct evedence that points to him.

Not directly related to article, but I just want to express my appreciation for (unclassified) US military manuals in general. There is a manual for everything , from painting a Black-hawk to cooking Bolognese.

I visited northern Laos in 2013. Speaking to people along the construction route, many didn't even know what a train was. None had ever seen one before. I only saw a single paved road in the country, which I hitchhiked on from the Chin

How did they get the architecture so wrong on that "open-world game that involves driving cars and running pedestrians over"?

Yup. Our jail cells are nicer than the in the US. They even come with a TV, which the dorm rooms don't, and would have to pay a license fee for.

It's cheaper if you don't need to provide classrooms or textbooks for the "invalid" children. Just let them freeze to death out in the forest.

“I don’t want to call these jails, but ... these aren’t really good dorms.” In the UK, a standard dorm room is a 3m x 2m box that is indistinguishable from a jail cell.

A B-17 once landed at an airfield in Belgium without any crew on board. Just by chance it was pointing in the right direction, with the right amount of lift and drag and thrust.

OneWeb might be more suitable for this. At least their biz model is based around doing things it, while Starlink is direct-to-consumer.

One might reasonably assume the creators of this stuf are training their models on real CSAM, and thus are guilty of many crimes in addition to the production. Everyone else training models to produce imagery uses real data, so why would AI

YDIH is based on false assumptions imo. Check out Robert Schoch's 'solar induced dark age' theory. Schoch deconstructs a lot of YDIH's claims.
