I think it is more than fine to use Edit and Continue as a professional. I’m acknowledging the trade offs and making an argument meant to be heard by a resistant audience that is likely to be the ones making the tool. E&C is a useful t

It’s useful to realize Edit and Continue is not for professional programmers, and the qualities we’d most want are not appropriate to every problem. The horrible code you inherited as the programmer brought on is because some non-profession

In VB the feature requested here was called Edit and Continue. VB users loved it. The original release of VB.net did not have it, and was the highest priority feature to add back. When we added it back into Visual Studio, C# got it as well

The thumbstamp version of creating fake celeb faces was one of the projects for the Deep Learning Udacity nanodegree. (These get changed over time, so it may be different now.) The dataset of 200,000 celeb photos with the face nicely center

Drastically simplified source access for the silicon partners seems more important for the business case. I agree the power aspect, absent more specifics, sounds wrong.

Somewhat related is Thomas Metzinger’s The ego tunnel. Metzinger is an applied philosopher, directly examining what is consciousness as can be determined and backed up with neuroscience. I loved Antonio Damasio’s the feeling of what happens

Is this an 8k standalone binary? It’s amazing either way! I’m curious as to what counts as part of the 8k and what might be assumed as part of the platform.

How much of this is transferable? Is this institutional manufacturing knowledge a gigantic amount of potential energy for tesla’s competition that will put them in lead for EVs? Or is it a friction keeping a competitive EV from a big car

How does this interact with pilot wave theory? Is the article saying that the causal direction of time is undefined within a quantum entangled system? Or is that more than what it’s claiming?

How does this change the threat model for using keybase? It would seem to increase the target value of compromising the client. Is that immediate impression wrong?

The Chakra Javascript engine uses a conservative generational mark and sweep collector with many phases running in parallel to code execution. It looks like Chakra is now on github (and with an MIT license). In chakra the GC is called it a

Yes, there are a bunch of legitimate use cases for large scale development where you want inline tools to assist QA and diagnostic issues. The Visual Studio codebase had (may have changed now) a dialog for debug asserts allowing you to supp
