Problematic users do tend to congregate on certain servers because they keep getting banned from better moderated ones. Eventually they find the ones that won't ban them, and now well moderated instances have an easy target to block th

I think you're thinking about "limiting" another instance, where content from the limited instance is excluded from public feeds but still shows up in personal feeds to those who are subscribed. Sadly limiting instances like

UX and UI design preferences notwithstanding, here's the list of bugs I regularly experience that drive me insane: * Opening comments regularly takes 30-45 seconds, I sometimes think I mistapped, and end up with 2 post comments activit

Yes, you'll see posts both from startrek.website as well as other instances on the home page. You can subscribe to remote communities as long as you do it from startrek.website (and don't accidentally follow a link to another inst

I'm not sure if you're aware, but only the first remote user needs to know the address. After that the content gets federated to the feeds of other instances automatically, including the new/hot pages where popular upvoted po

There is no oauth involved, the import works by requesting your instagram zip archive and then selecting the downloaded zip file in Pixelfed. You can check out the code here: https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/bl

It looks like the instagram->pixelfed import actually preserves the original post's date. Dansup imported a post from 2016 and it shows up as "7y ago" in my mastodon UI.

Did you try adding your VPN subnet to the trusted / local networks setting? I use OpenVPN in opnsense to access my local plex, though I can also use app.plex.tv which usually automatically uses direct connect using my forwarded wan ip

It might be lower hanging fruit to start with something like a VR renderer for openscad - it would be amazing to be able to type openscad code into a floating window and see a live updating floating render of the object I am building next t

Upload speed shenanigans is what pushed me to pursue Comcast's "business tier" gigabit pro fiber and the last 3 or so years have been pure bliss. Unfortunately it's limited to locations right around the corner from fiber

It would be great for app permissions to cover this. Im thinking location permissions should need to be allowed to either access photos with geotagging or maybe it just gets filtered out transparently to the app. And you could have the syst

I just flashed my pixel 2 to lineage 18 now that it's not receiving updates, and I was disappointed to discover that because of SafetyNet, I can't use Google pay in stores or install the Netflix app. So to me it's still less

If you mean ublock origin cosmetic filters, yeah facebook is really putting up a fight. The status quo has been randomized css classes, identical html structure, interspersing hidden junk characters in between the "Sponsored" text

The Android docs seem to hint that it's using ovpn profiles under the hood - it shouldn't be too hard to get the config file if it isn't already provided in the librem one website: https://docs.puri.sm/Librem_

FWIW, me and my team would likely be super into paying for a hosted Jitsi if there was another pricing structure. We run our own but keeping it running smoothly takes away dev energy. Counting usage like this just seems very ripe for abuse

Apparently it's a whole collection of repos - each .bundle file in the torrent can be expanded with git clone to a full repo according to the readme, there are about 250 bundle files in the torrent.

How did you retrofit the exhalation filter? I have a similar 3M mask (6000 series) but haven't used it since March since the exhale port doesn't make it easy to attach a filter. Being able to use it would solve my glasses fogging,

Isn't the Steam Linux Runtime supposed to handle the distro support problem? Or are there issues with that too? I was under the impression that Valve had essentially solved the distro support issue for Linux games distributed on Steam.

I don't think so, if you look at the other closed PRs, you can find some where the owner also deleted their fork like I did. Despite that you can still access the commits they wanted to merge.

I might not be able to explain well, but from what I understand about how github works, when you fork someone else's repo, github only stores 1 tree but you have your own set of tags / branches. This led to an issue that was proba
