Sure, but it's worth wasting 99 laptops if even we manage to enable one child to get a better education, and that's even before considering that the other 99 laptops are probably not going to be wasted either.

In my experience, IPFS doesn't even do a good job of fully-online updates. Maybe my setup was bad, but I couldn't get it to reliably and quickly discover content on other nodes that were definitely online.

Wow, that's a lot of bad. How did they manage to create an account with your email address? Doesn't it require verification?

It's not about whether the person is "a success" or "a failure", it's about whether the person feels that their condition is materially impacting their daily life. If I feel that my gaming habit is impacting my

How did that happen and why did it take weeks to resolve?

Yeah, but in the first case you go from 1000 files to 2, whereas in the second you go from 2 to 1, which is much less impressive. Metrics are fun!

I saw the exact same thing and was surprised too! I wonder if it was a site that was on HN... I press "accept all" by accident and thought "wow".

Because blowing up weddings leads to dissatisfied voters, so politicians are less likely to do that very often.

And if fewer weddings get blown up, we'll use them more and more to kill people. I wonder whether the absolute number of killings will go up or down this way.

Or like those that make the "Accept all cookies" button green and the "accept necessary" white/colorless/default.

Thonny looks great, thanks for the tip! I've had friends who had trouble understanding how return values work, this would help!

The Nix maintainers asked very nicely whether there was a specific reason and whether they could work with the author to solved it. The author just said "no, just don't include my stuff", which he technically didn't have

Apparently not, since the author couldn't/didn't want to either.

Oh damn, that's fantastic! I wanted to write a small server that did something between this and Fire above (i.e. allowed you to drop a Python script into a directory and would create a UI for its functions). It's a great way to ma

If your users are on Freenode and don't know about your network, having the structure there doesn't do much good. It doesn't take much time to register nicknames/channels anyway, certainly not enough to risk a lawsuit fr

My comment was a rather tongue-in-cheek take of how Libera is carrying on the spirit of Freenode, and we should just consider Freenode a random other network that somehow got Freenode's name by accident.

I don't understand what the big deal with all this Freenode drama is. It just got renamed to Libera, update your host files and you're done.
