What an interesting article. I don't think many people outside of our field realize how obscure some bugs can be, and the lengths needed to diagnose them. Not every bug, of course; not even 95% of bugs. But every now and again, you

Businesses don't say "big game" because saying Super Bowl is illegal. They say it because even if they're legally in the right, the NFL could easily bankrupt them in court, and it's not worth the risk.

There have been a few instances of this sort of "malicious compliance" that I've noticed, the biggest of which has been Pandora: If you're not in the US, you have to convince their website that you are in order to play m

Someone willing to make this kind of deal with his "employees" is someone willing to spin down the company as soon as revenues start to approach his trigger value, and keep all the profits.

Honestly, you really shouldn't have to hit "36,000 requests per minute" scraping a website for price updates. Can someone explain if there is any scenario in which this is reasonable? Do QVC's prices change that ofte

You just created a work for hire for your employer. You should have negotiated this earlier, and especially before voluntarily donating it to be used at your company.
