For me it's twitter is where I find people I don't know, and facebook is where I find people I do know. Twitter is useful for me as an aggregator for gathering twitter posts by people I'm interested in. All of my family members who do use

I thought this article interesting when looked through the lens of ensuring your developers have the best equipment available to them. For Suzuki, taking care of his bats, gloves and spikes evidently pays off.

It would be interesting to know how much decisions at Google had to play in all this happening. I'm sure they knew how much value they added to Apple's platform, and with the continued rise of Android it's certainly possible they saw this

Does this still work today? I tried downgrading and got error 3194, which seems to indicate that Apple is no longer signing 5.1.1 (I hadn't jailbroken/saved shsh blobs yet). Am I SOL?

That store moved a little while ago, it's on the top floor now. I find it a little amusing since it appears that the decision to move was prompted by the near proximity of the much-larger Microsoft store. (I have no idea if it actually wa

The problem for me with the Maps app isn't that it isn't accurate for the few things I tried (turn-by-turn for navigating to/from work & my daughter's preschool), it's for the other things that I might try in the future. It's an issue o

We don't know about what the negotiations were like between Apple and Google. Given that the Youtube app was also pulled, there's probably some political maneuverings going on. Google pretty much pulled the rug out from under Apple's feet

There's no middle ground? I assume that Opera wouldn't be vulnerable? What about the browsers that wrap UIWebView like Chrome?

The Apple Maps team must be under tremendous pressure. I wouldn't be surprised if there's some dysfunction going on in there too, given the variations in quality (e.g., if the 3D is so bad, why didn't they just cut it and introduce it as a

I've considered using source control on my IPAs just in case I want to roll-back an app. It's happened a few times, like when developers break compatibility, or when they introduce ads and/or IAP, or sometimes I just don't like an update.

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to make sure your little brother isn't spying on what you're saying, any of the IM platforms from established players is likely "good enough" (gtalk, skype, facebook chat, etc). If you're a d

More than once my rubber case has stopped my phone from slipping off a table. I won't get into the details, but the toilet incident of 2011 was a close call and the case prevented certain disaster.

Just guessing, but maybe they finished sooner? It's also possible the native maps app is going through significant changes and they plan to launch when iOS 6 launches.

After using Windows 8 for awhile, I wished there was a way to interact with it through a controller - I think it would work quite well.

I'd give Nokia a pass if they took pictures in a very optimal conditions to show their products in the best possible light. Heck, I'd be probably ok if they didn't even use a real phone but some sort of prototype that was very, very simila

You may want to check out AI War[1]. The designer sounds like he is well-versed in AI and made it one of the game's selling points. It's also an extremely DRM-friendly game too! [1] http://christophermpark.blogspot.com/2009/06/designing-e

It's truly unfortunate. If the money is really in F2P (and I think it is), I would hate to see "core" developers like Epic/Valve/ID integrate those features into their games because it makes business sense. Yes, TF2 is F2P, but I think t
