If a placebo works as well as the trial treatment then you can conclude the trial treatment is ineffective. You can't conclude anything about the placebo. The definition of a placebo is a substance or treatment with no medical action.

Harass is a loaded term that doesn't deserve the context here. Although TidBits didn't write this article they should know better. The article was not a fair handed examination of the issue (and specifically Norwegian to boot). Ap

Well perhaps but regardless he didn't create quarks. He discovered their existence. No different than discovering the atom - it was there before people discovered it and so were quarks whether or not they're fundamental particles.

Quest doesn't ask for SSN - I use them for my lab tests. If you're a collection agency you're going to be getting financial records which are going to include SSN (I assume from the financial reporting agencies) and your job

It wasn't for identification. It was for financial purposes so that the collection agency could find the people. Never the less it's inexcusable to keep such PIs in an open database without encryption and tight controls. I'm

Just to clarify it wasn't Quest that has the compromise, it was a 3rd party collection agency which Quest sold their delinquent accounts. Quest doesn't store SSNs but the 3rd party evidently did as part of their efforts to identif

There's nothing in the developer section https://developer.apple.com/documentation/security that specifies this restriction. Maybe I couldn't find the reference. I'm pretty sure the Chrome folks removed

Except Edge isn't a Mac-looking application. It starts with Chromium which isn't a standard Mac UI and gloms on plenty of stuff that's not Mac-like either. What's gonna be the advantage of using Edge over Chrome from a d

Guess I don't see any reason for a 4th (and even more if you consider Chrome variants) browser to exist. It takes a lot to make me get off of Safari. About the only time I do is when I must have Flash for streaming services and then I

I wonder if you can use this to report censorship that the Trump administration is actively doing to scientific reports and scientists themselves who's results disagree with their business and extremist religious agenda?

Apple isn't afraid of ditching tech when it becomes clear it's a dead end. In almost all cases they've been correct and the rest of the industry soon follows their leads. Think how reliable Windows would be today if they hadn

More importantly would you like to have your IV changed by a nurse that makes up her own standards for health care? Google does what's best for Google - how could there be any discussion of that fact in 2019.

I was totally confused. It has nothing to do with Darwin, the open source components of macOS? And you refer to it as an .app which it isn't? Even more confusing is that you haven't tested it with Safari?

There's no way this is true. I had 2 kids and between yard sales, Old Navy and WalMart there's no way you could spend $500 a month unless you're buying high end, designer clothes and new Air Jordan's every month.
