Once discussions get long I can't even follow them, though. There at least needs to some something added to the UI so I can see who is replying to what and where a tree starts/ends

Personally, what caught my attention was that it's a systems language with a lot of inspiration from ML.

Let's also not forget about the decades of research we've missed out on. The brain is an incredibly complex system, and a great way to gain insight into a complex system is to tinker with its mechanics and watch what happens. We&#

I want to add to this that you want to be careful about deriving meaning from one's physical actions alone. I may have just crossed my arms, but if you'll look closely you'll notice I wasn't looking at you when I did so.

This story and your comment reminded me of this talk, "ADHD as a Cognitive Difference, Not a Disorder" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU6o2_UFSEY I was formally diagnosed with ADHD a year ago after realizing a fe

I don't have any on hand, but I'm pretty there's been surveys showing teenagers in the US admit it's easier to get cannabis than alcohol. I know that was 100% true when I was in high school. All it took was a phone call

As a young American, I don't really agree with this and this is definitely not the norm among my peers. It reminds me of the common misconception that Americans wear their shoes inside. Everywhere I've lived (Midwest) it's ge

I think for me a better analogy might be everyone else is on Win10, while I'm here running Plan9 or something. I really don't see my condition as a disability, but I'm also not at the severe end of the spectrum. I do perfectl

I can actually attest to being less playful on medication. I'm a very upbeat, humorous, and witty person. Too much of a stimulant however makes me very bland, an intense listener, and I have trouble coming up with replies to people. I

The thing with ADHD is that the difficulty to maintain attention is often highly situational. As someone diagnosed I personally have a lot of trouble focusing on a lot, but when it comes to something like juggling or playing counter-strike

Do you know of any examples out there on how to write plugins using ClojureScript? I got into Emacs a few months ago, but have been considering switching over to Atom so I can write plugins in CLJS

To contrast with some other snarky responses, for me Snapchat has very little to do with "social validation". Personally snapchat is another tool for me to connect with people. I get to see what people are up to on their shared st

On a daily basis I see people making the most idiotic and insensitive comments backed by sophomoric reasoning, and it really hurts my hope. At the same time, I notice if I look for the good I seem to find a lot more, and it comes from typic

The only people who refer to it as parens hell seem to be non-lispers. As I understand it m-exps were never implemented because people don't really want them. I definitely prefer s-exps over them.

I've been diving into Lisp over the past few months and I already find it just as easy to read and even easier to edit/navigate with a proper editor. Sometimes it gets hairy when reading mathematical operations, but that's it

I don't know much about the project, but it may have been done in Clojure as the author works a lot with it/writes about it. I haven't come across anything about Racket from him.
