How so? What problems do you have with it?

Nope. I personally have two HDR devices and two non-HDR ones. I don't want to keep two separate copies as this takes up more storage, requires me to get two different versions whcih means the progress won't be synced ebtweent the

The service itself is open source ; but it relies on a closed source service. Both are not incompatible.

Exactly the question I had in mind. You can't rely on server side trust so I'm curious if I just misunderstood something...

This may be a compatibility problem. On my phone it seems to run at 60fps.

Not everyone agrees with this definition. If the source is open to read, for me it's open source. The website you linked is an opinionated view on what open source is.

To be fair, most phones with USB-C are 2.0 only, which means they're limited to 480 Mbps.

I've tried many options and ended up distching Restic for Borg and then Borg for Kopia, which was IMO the best option.

Your link shows an error message: > Error: The job that you were looking for either does not exist or is no longer open. Is it a mistake or did you manage to fill the position in a single day?

Hi, I looked at your job offer, but I see there is *at least* 4 hours of interview (up to 5 hours !) not including the coding task? This seems like a huge energy-draining hiring process, plus there is no salary range indicated on your websi

I've been using Kopia for about a year to backup sensitive data multiple times a day into an off-site encrypted storage and it's worked like a charm so far. The presence of a WebUI is so nice compared to CLI-only tools.

I used to have a custom NAS with full disk encryption, whose bootloader would spin up a tiny SSH server with very few features, mainly only access to an unlock function that would allow to transmit the encryption passphrase over the said SS

To be honest, cable quality do absolutely make a difference. Buying a crappy RCA cable from a third-party seller on Amazon vs a good quality one (we're speaking maybe $5-$10 from a reputable brand) will make a huge difference. Above

Actually, there two big reasons why people disliked CDs in the early days. First, the analog-to-digital converters (ADC) of the time were absolutely terrible. Which resulted in CDs being actually worse than their vinyl counterpart. Then t

You certainly aren't getting any speaker going correctly to 17 Hz even for ten times this price. Stereo speakers are not made to go very low, that's what a subwoofer is for. Not all subwoofers even go that low! Above $2500 for a g

Mainly the fact you have to run an entire browser (= more memory usage, slower startup time) and that it runs on HTML + JS, which is very slow compared to fully-compiled languages like C, C++ or Rust.

A very hard thing to do though is the requirement of generics. If everything is typed, you may have functions that take an argument and produce another value of the same type for instance. And generics are really, really hard to implement c

The very main reason is to have a higher quality audio output. Instead of having a shitty jack a device like this will have a very good DAC & amp, sometimes even a bi-DAC and bi-amp, and also a lot more power to handle bigger headphones

No, to me that's equally as bad. But 100k lines split across 500 well-named files is a lot easier to work with than 10+K line files or multi-repo code.

10+K lines spread across 1k file is equally as bad as 10+K line files IMO. I tend to ensure each file serves exactly one purpose (e.g. in C# one file = one class, with a only few exceptions). I use VS Code, but in every IDE with a file open

I strongly disagree on this one. 10+K lines files are absolutely unreadable most of the time. Separating business logic than other parts of the application helps maintaining it and making everything evolve in parallel, without mixing things
