It would be nice, if someone could train stray cats. I have very smart in my neighborhood. And can be hired for cheap, basically a slice of sausage.

In every legal system, intent without capacity is not considered to be intent. It is so laughable and pathetic, frankly, that you brought it up at all.

yes, right. Lately they preemptively killed civilians when they were in a line for flour, because they were caring for civilians, and therefore prevented them from overeating.

What kind of "bubble" are you talking about? Vast majority of servers run either Redhat derivative or Debian derivative and both boast long term support for even old systems. Ubuntu 18 afaik still receive security updates, so does

I think with your fanboi attitude you should not participate in public conversations. Your style of communication is immature and does not belong to places like HN. Now having said that, for someone like you, who is unable to understand the

In fact I would argue that FreeBSD is better as a desktop than server (where you may want package stability). FreeBSD update policies such as choice between quarterly (much like Ubuntu, but twice as often) and rolling puts its into nice bal

"Embedded" is a diverse concept. No need for Rust on ATtiny with all variables static and Harvard architecture. In fact, even C often is overkill, and Assembler is a better choice for a simple LED flasher or really tight high perf

Massive idiocy on Nintendo side, as these sources for these emulators are already backed up and will already resurface again.

HP monitors (Dells too), especially their U series, use better LG panels (LG rarely uses their own panels in their monitors, as they are too expensive; usually they use cheaper Chinese panels). HP also often uses Eyesafe certified panels, w

This is why I said "de facto", not "by design". Yes, you can use it outside stats domain, but it will suck big time for that. PHP used to be like that as well, but later versions look more usable for general scripting.

No R is not a "surprisingly solid general purpose PL". Not in comparison to better option such as Ruby, Python, Perl etc.

In my case, I found R a better tool for learning DS, as it is more or less, a DSL for statistics, and feels more low level and fores you to learn more fundamentals than python. For production it is probably worse tan python, true.

This is not how people want it though. The want to be able to install any version of any software old or new irrespectively of the base system. Flatpack is close though.

Wayland is called Vyaleniy in Russian IT circles, which means "dried like beef jerky" and generally is disliked. 4chan calls it Gayland. Yeah, I know.

No, Linux has poor isolation between the base system and application and third-pardty software and poor backwards compatibility (FreeBSD is slightly better in that respect). The only OSS Posix system that getting it right seems to be Haiku.

IMHO the best update strategy I've seen is the FreeBSD/NetBSD quarterly update, with "base" part of the system not updating. OpenSUSE is too frequent to my taste.

Qt is very special because it has excellent, "vector" fractional scaling (in a way, similar to Windows), compared to Gtk which has awful "bitmap" fractional scaling (akin to MacOS).

Font rendering on HiDPI was worse (slightly blurrier, many probably won't notice, but annoys me a lot) on Wayland than X11; probably because X11 had different scaling step, friendlier to the way freetype scales. Many other things just

Well, it depends on the nature of the product. Some trivial things which has 100 LOC in it is not worth GPLing, as everyone including yourself would benefit from a BSD/public domain license.
