Other commenters have already pointed out some of the ways you're confused about categories, but let me explicitly answer your question of, why doesn't the functor include the mapping on the objects and not just on the morphisms?

See Redoubt's comment. The use of "shocked, shocked" is meant ironically, in reference to a scene from Casablanca. In general when you see the word "shocked" doubled like that it basically always means this.

OK, let's say we institute this cap. The obvious thing to do then is to spawn off officially-separate parties that can nominate more candidates for you. You could outlaw that, I suppose, but now we're getting into the area of th

I don't think Borda count is an acceptable alternative. It's vulnerable to the teaming problem; elections would turn into contests of which party can nominate the most candidates. The simplest alternative you can actually get peo

Hm, so, Feldman claims that it wasn't the OO that made C++ popular, but rather the other features added on top of it that C with Classes didn't have. But one of those features that C with Classes didn't have was virtual func

I'm not sure what you mean by the word "selfishness", but you don't seem to be using it in the usual way. "Selfishness" usually refers to self-interested action that is or attempts to be rational, not irration

So, there's one thing here that strikes me as really weird. And I think it's best summed up at the end, where it discusses closing over a loop variable. It discusses how if you close over a loop variable, people expect that each

Thanks! To repeat it here: we assign each piece a piece a vector of 3 bits; thinking of these vectors as numbers from 0 to 7 (or rather 0 to 6, since 111 is unused), the pieces go in the order (L, J, I, O, Z, S, T). Note that this assignmen
