This is neat editor and it's cool to see how Github could eventually bill itself as your one stop shop for code editing and collaboration. My only concern is that of feature creep hurting the user experience by creating a cluttered and conf

First thing I noticed was the lack of capitalization just about everywhere. The font-size is a little small, too. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

Ah. Thanks. Will patch that up right now. :) edit: Provides clean error message now.

I'm doing essentially the same thing with the submitted JSON. The result of that would be what I am storing in the database.

Hosted on Linode, at the moment. If I see that people are finding it useful then I have no problem sustaining it myself.

It's a big decision for anyone to make, in my opinion.

Nobody uses these complaints when the game is called an MMO. Perhaps that's their new take on Diablo? I was a huge fan of Diablo and played it entirely online. I'm not too angry about this, personally.

Strange that this comment is being down voted. This was also the first thing I thought of.

yup. the remote system explorer package. i love it. its the most like a typical project browser that i've found. honestly, my main complaint is just about eclipse itself. for some reason id rather be using something more "cool", but eclipse

I use Eclipse on all of my dev machines, for this. Eclipse runs everywhere, as far as I know. I'm able to keep the same dev setup on my Windows PC, my Macbook and anywhere else I may want. Eclipse can edit files over sftp - no drive mapping

Not really. I've never really jumped onto an open source project before. I've had pull requests of mine accepted into projects before but I've never been a serial contributor. That said, I feel like I'm coming into a phase where that may be

I recall the original robohash thread. This is obviously something built using it. I'm mostly curious about how this made it to the #1 article with only 9 votes, in 20 minutes.

No offense to the creator of the css lint website, but I had no idea that anyone actually took the site seriously. When I first read the rules that it uses I thought it was a sarcastic trolling website. From what I recall, many of the comme

I know this can be tricky. I wrote a Twitter-based keyword filtering tool and subscribed to their garden hose. They say to only use one connection at a time, so I think it may be violating the terms of service to be running more than one st

How about opening Google+ up to Google Apps accounts, too? Google Apps accounts cannot create Google Profile accounts, which are required for G+.

I'm really glad to see a site, in YC, trying to tackle the problem of contacts. A particular problem I always see is that when people lose their phone, or lose all their numbers, they create groups or events on Facebook and spam their whole

To be honest, it can be tricky. I had a tough time with two monitors, initially. I would always put my irc client and instant messenger clients on the second monitor, along with whatever documentations, editors, etc that i needed. I would d

My first job out of college was at Nortel, coding their 4G data network infrastructure. I still think I only understood about 20% of the big picture by the time I left. So many moving parts, massive code base and tons of acronyms.

I can't be the only one who has tried this because I have been beaten a few times while using it. I usually get a dj spot in the largest channels on turntable.fm pretty quickly, though. If only I knew what dubstep was then maybe I'd have so

The rules that this tool follows appear to be based on the creator's own personal opinions. Personally, I'd advise against at least several of the rules.
