Might not be live for long, but a user on IRC posted this link. He has setup an RC car that you can control, with a camera on it. It's pretty awesome.

You know what's funny? The company that I work for wrote a web app for a large company and we also host it for them. At one point in time, they requested a way for users to reset their passwords. We implemented it, but they never use it. Th

I also do something like this for http://jsonifier.com . I had users requesting that JSON pastes could be deleted after they were requested once. So, I know people find these kinds of features useful. I didn't think about building an entir

tl;dr: If a book were going to teach somebody how to program then you wouldn't be asking this question. A book requires a self-motivated person to pick it up and read it. Assuming you're trying to teach somebody who didn't have the desire t

Are you ready to launch? Then launch. You could spend years wondering if you're going to be good or bad (but can improve) at doing the items you listed, but you won't ever know until you just launch it.

Kind of a funny optical allusion, but after looking at that tilted google page for a few minutes and then coming back to HN, it looks like HN is tilted too.

A group of my friends, from Oklahoma, claim to have been contacted by YC about their application a month ago, or so. I'm wondering if it's more common for the groups being considered for the invite out for the in-person interview to be cont

Has this been done before? If not, then why not? With all of the available services like this for Windows and Linux, why not Mac? Is there some sort of license fee or restriction that makes this type of service difficult to profit from? I'm

You're not going to be able to simply upload a PDF and search for text using the raw file data. It's not readable. You're going to have to either use a tool to extract embedded text, or perform OCR on the document if it's image-only. A real

Living in Dallas, I'd love to see the start-up community flourish. I do not think it's a lack of density, though. I feel like it's a cat-mouse problem. As harsh as this is, I do not think the community will flourish here until a start-up co
