I guess this is trolling, but I've never claimed credit for the traditional coding part. The unique bits I did do - Checked the specs for actual hardware limits, DMA and any acceleration - A magic dither based on my previous (normally

Yes. Stupid comment of mine tbh, I saw it as pointless for this card, but they wouldn't make a separate version of the controller just for this One avenue I looked at for a real 2560px width was that the second controller was physicall

I've never tried it, I am put off by the amount of work for a few weekends on what I considered a personal project, plus I don't understand the code base well enough (problem domain is ok, I grew up with 8 and 16 Bit machines, and

Funny you should say that On the same machine I experimented with IOMMU and a lightweight VM to run Nvidia Pascal era GPUs in a VM with 580 drivers, while Nvidia Blackwell on the host uses 590. I vibe coded that too When exposed via openai

It is just an old school 2D style card, with some (shape) primitives acceleration (unused), two logical controllers (no idea why), but has DMA (used) and a hardware cursor (also used). There's no onboard audio either. It's pretty

Ah you mean this https://www.pcworld.com/article/393815/the-asrock-rack-m2-vg... That one is VGA so I think the original upstream driver should support it.

I agree but these things are only about $25 USD. Arguably an older Nvidia GPU is a better investment at this price if you just want basic desktop use. Unfortunately if I did that, the old Nvidia drivers wouldn't support my newer Nvidi

Possibly, but in order to be safe for everyone, reviewers may want me to remove features that allow the driver to achieve the non-standard performance. There's a lot of hoops to jump through :)

I wrote* a modern Linux driver that supports ultrawide resolutions, higher refresh, and faster performance than the original driver(s) on this cheap HDMI only variant server GPU. I created it because I wanted my Nvidia GPUs to be compute on

I just wish they'd support Pascal :( Nvidia might have given up support but it doesn't mean vllm have to (llama.cpp didn't).

Enterprise software, stuff that you expect to scale exactly because it has queues and distributed computing.

This isn't a good thing for open source. Nvidia don't share CUDA, don't open source their drivers, don't support capable but older hardware (forget Pascal etc), and generally charge a premium over competitors for hardwar

I use medium generally, that's about a minute at 20t/s and off for general chat (few seconds for a response). What kind of setup are you running it on?

Not personally, just from comparisons it was doing of the source Vs the spec as it was working, usually it was sequence of data, or incorrect states that would/could be tolerated.

There's no hardware acceleration, it's raw framebuffer stuff so window dragging is laggy at 32bpp at the highest resolutions, even after I added buffers. I'm by no means requiring 16bpp, the build will do 32bpp by default unl

I did this but with a dedicated machine for the Silicon Motion sm750 GPU. A budget single HDMI output GPU card for servers and a max resolution of 1080p. It is based on an older VGA/DVI version of the same hardware. I'm still test

As a recruiter once said to me, if you don't do the defence work, somebody else will. So you might as well do it and do a better job and get paid well. I didn't go for the job.

Why not just set up a build pipeline to have AI view the page, check for ads, then do the whack a mole until it removes them, or have I missed something that needs human in the loop?

It's a good job their allies will defend them then if their ammo is low - this isn't sarcasm, it's the point of NATO, but hey if Trump still wants to pull out of that alliance...

Does this require a given hardware platform, or for example, could I run this model with a cheap mini robot with a single camera (i.e. good enough without depth), tracked treads, and an arm?
