I had the issue when going from driving my two 4k monitors with usb-c directly to going through a thunderbolt 4 hub that then did HDMI out (Caldigit). After some searching it seems HDMI conversion can trigger it. Switched to a TB4 hub that

CCS chargers above 50kw are usually liquid cooled as well. Above 200amps it really needs it for manageable cable size and CCS goes to 500 amps while Tesla goes to 800 amps. CCS goes to 1000v too which is theoretically 500kw.

Nice site, only about 250 total, Wyoming, South and North Dakota have none, closest one near me in Florida is about 40 miles away. Is amazing how fast the infrastructure is going in. Seems much easier to build charging stations than gas sta

Are you sure? They clearly state not all are 350kw but they seem to obfuscate how many are, it would be nice to know, they should have a map filter specifically for it: https://www.electrifyamerica.com/how-ev-charging-works&

800v adds some complications, if the pack is 800v you need a boost converter to charge from 400v or the pack needs to dynamically reconfigure with contactors or something. On the Porsche Taycan which has an 800v battery you have to pay extr

Diesel already increases cost and weight over gas and are pretty efficient which is why you don't see any hybrids. Electric motors don't compliment diesel like they do gas which can go Atkinson cycle allowing the gas motor to get

Looks like roughly 130kwh battery for 230 miles and 180kwh for 300 miles. Large battery is 1800lbs, about twice the size and weight of a Model 3 battery. Towing range is always a problem with BEV's, to get good range they they usually

This is the BMW tank I got those figures from which looks to be manufactured by Air Liquide [1]: "To stay a liquid, hydrogen must be cooled and maintained at cryogenic temperatures of, at warmest, −253 °C (20.1 K; −423.4 °F). When not

They have been talking up the advantages of unified memory so my guess is they will stick with integrated, but I would imagine they will end up supporting AMD or Nvidia discrete to some degree.

Yep if you have a hydrogen pump nearby it will probably fill faster than a charger. Not sure if they need attendants like a propane fill. If you have a plug at home though thats much more convient at least to me when going to work.

Tile based deferred renders help with memory bandwidth requirement (partly why UMA mobile GPUs and the M1 use it). The M1 has 16mb of cache coherent with CPU and GPU and then there is tile memory in each core.

Drag isn't the only thing in play. They both are driving below highway speeds, one more so than the other, I wish there was some data for a Tesla at 40 mph vs 25 or 48 to compare more directly the difference. The Tesla will have betwee

Lithium batteries still seem to have a way to go in energy density currently at around 250-300 wh/kg and going up year over year with a theoretical maximum (Sulfur cathode) of above 2500 wh/kg. At around 2000 wh/kg you are eq

Really would like to know more about the GPU and Ram. At 128 gpu cores vs the 8 in the M1 you talking 16 times the potential GPU power which could put it up there near the top of discrete GPU's.

Electrons are more energy dense than hydrogen unfortunately you need a heavy battery to store and use them properly. However hydrogen needs high pressure tanks and fuels cells to store and use it properly so there is basically no energy den
