Thats my take too just based on talking to my grandparents vs anti-vax friends. The anti-vaxxers just have never experienced the direct impact of a crippling but now easily preventable disease and what life was like before modern vaccines.

Menu always overwrites status icons if not enough space for both. Nothing new other than slightly less menu space causing this old behavior to occur on wider screen than it did before with apps having lots of menus. Status icons being able

What does that mean? The polio vaccine is considered 100% effective at 4 doses while 90% at 2. Does a vaccine have to hit 100% effectiveness at some number of doses to be considered a cure?

My grandfathers brother had polio and was crippled for life. I always remember how my grandparents talked of vaccines having seen the effects of polio and smallpox when they where growing up. They considered vaccines a modern miracle and co

Sorry thats not meant to be a literal format but conceptually mapped to text JSON. It would instead be more like CBOR or other JSON like binary formats at the byte level.

Still have the issue of binary data encoding as well since the data will have those bytes in it so they need to be escaped vs a format that defines how to encoding binary as is efficiently (length delimited).

Sure, looks good, plenty to choose from, just need to get everyone to agree on one. Although I do like ones that have some concept of a schema to reduce repeated key size and allow validation.

Text is a binary format that just happens to have decoders (ASCII, UTF8 etc) everywhere in order to parse and display it to humans along with more specific parsers for things like JSON. I wish we could all settle on a binary structured form

Few things: Peukerts law does not really apply to lithiums [1] so with lead acid your capacity is greatly reduced if you do high amp draws. You can really only use 50% of lead acid capacity without significantly effecting their lifetime, so

Would be interesting to know whats going on in the industry with LFP. Pre-built lead acid replacement LFP battery prices have been dropping almost daily and are down to high end AGM prices [1] and quality has been going up [2], these batter

Keep going, next sentence from JSON.org: "It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. " Non-quoted keys is easier to read and write by humans, trailing commas are easier for a machine to

The sync over async issue is a real common problem for me when trying to get a large older codebase converted to async and you can't just do it all at once. You still need support non async callers and you want to share code between th

Seems similar to gravity compressing spacetime causing matter to pathfind towards itself. Treasure compresses navmesh causing a kind of gravity for the Fox AI pathfinding. So in a way spacetime could be thought of as a navmesh that the simu

This doesn't replace fuel cells, fuel cells convert hydrogen to electricity, these things store hydrogen for the fuel cells to use. They replace 10,000 psi hydrogen tanks.

Their capacity diminishes not their efficiency and they are 80-90% recyclable. Efficiency is how much power is put in vs how much you get out.
