Pretty simple the higher the wavelength the higher the photon energy and the more likely to cause non-thermal effects. Microwaves have very low photon energy far below any mechanism known to cause non-thermal effects. RF can heat you based

The non-ionizing methods for EM are still based on photon energy for which RF has orders of magnitude less than UV which is ionizing on the high end and near ionizing on the low end. There is no know non-thermal mechanism which RF can cause

Nuclear does not emit carbon when used, the waste heat means very little, emissions are what matters when discussing efficiency. Plutonium 239 is also 83,610,000 MJ/kg vs coal at 35 MJ/kg so the difference in thermal efficiency is

I disagree you cannot use the hash to login, therefore it is not a password. Is a digital signature the item it is signing? The whole point of hashing passwords is so if the DB containing them is breached the passwords are not compromised.

No a one-way hash is not "the password". If you have the hash you can't use it to login or reverse it to a password without brute force comparison which is why you always store a hash with salt using slow hashing algo, and no

Yep thats what I typically do except a string "code" and string "description" that way the raw data is more readable without joining the coded value and many times you want a short code vs long description, like with US

No AppDomains are not as good as processes, I have tried to go that route before, you cannot stop unruly code reliably in an app domain (you must use thread.abort() which is not good) and memory can still leak in any native code used there.

Definitely a good application of EV, relatively short range, stop and go back to a central yard to recharge. Should save significant money on both fuel and maintenance compared to ICE versions over the lifetime without considering emissions

Just finishing Children of Memory. They were ok, not on the level of Blindsight IMO. Also reminds me of Deepness in the Sky by Vernor Vinge, which was also superior IMO.

Why is there a time limit? Doesn’t Java do multi tiered jitting with background compilation? Should be able to take as much time as needed in a background thread while code is executing in less optimized tier.

If I am understanding the issue here I don't believe C# would suffer from this issue since reflection works not only on public method access where those methods use privates internally but in fact could access privates directly. In C#

I don't agree, transformers are more like gears, while switching boost converters are more like impact wrenches. LDO's as brake yes I see that. However the analogy is never perfect even if useful.

I know how boost converters work but reading your great explanation made me realize how similar they are to an impact wrench. Ever wonder how an impact wrench creates such massive torque? Spin up a fly wheel then let it hit the dogs greatly

It's also important to note how crazy the ASML EUV machines are, they each take a megawatt of power to produce about 100 watts of EUV. The infrastructure just to run these machines is staggering. TSMC uses about 5% of Taiwans total pow

It may be irrational, but then irrational behavior is whats leads to bank runs. Why should I keep my money there if I can hit a few buttons and move it somewhere with less perceived risk? What if every one is thinking like that? Great FDIC
