Ok so I guess Android has some sort of API for allowing an app to install additional icons on the desktop with specific parameters like a shortcut and it shows the icon with a little icon representing the parent app, makes sense. So if you

So Android allows alternative rendering engines besides Chrome for PWA? If you install Firefox it uses Gecko but still has native app look feel? I honestly don't know but would be surprised if they did.

This is part of the compliance with "opening in your default browser" if the web site isn't specifically marked as a PWA then it just opens in the default browser. If it has a PWA manifest then it opens as a app using of cour

PG shares data between process not code as far as I know and definetly not any plans. Sharing jitted code is not straight forward as pointers will be different per process.

Only within a session unless something has changed there, that means no sharing between clients or even from one connection to the next form the same client. MSSQL caches plans globally and can be used across sessions and connections if the

Unlike say MSSQL or Oracle PG does not cache plans at all. I think this is mostly due to its multiprocess architecture vs just sharing in memory plans between threads. In MSSQL a plan can take a while to optimize including jitting if needed

I develop for MSSQL extensively and PG is missing some things that can be a little surprising. He might have been referring to the fact that PG doesn't cache query plans or have way to lock them in. PG replans for every statement unles

PDF is an open standard and if browser makers would get with it and support full CSS page media level 3 then you could render HTML to PDF with headers/footer/page numbers etc just like PrinceXML does.

I think it's just not worth it. A Model Y takes about 18Kw to hold 70mph, a 20Kw diesel generator on a trailer is about 2000 lbs dry no fuel and $20,000. I guess you could go with say 10Kw generator and run a deficit and double your ra
