I would think being compromised by the current Russian government is enough of a red flag.

> I think share growth is expressly a non-goal from Mozilla leadership, judging by some of the other comments. I would agree, I have no idea what the actual goals from Mozilla leadership are. They don't make sense.

So, the only way to grow Firefox now is to have a website Google can't hijack to advertise Chrome, and also a website everyone wants to use. "ChatGPT runs better in Firefox. Click here to install it."

Except that ST is not "simple" by any measure. It uses the standard bindings I learned with Windows decades ago, and builds on that. Vim forces me to change it all to the vim-like model. It's about having to learn a new set o

Been reading that for years. The language server protocol works perfectly fine with ST4, and it is better than ever. Whatever our small community needs, it's there. The fact it is not a "full IDE" is also one of the reasons I

This reads so much like that macho programmer who wrote everything in assembler from a few decades ago. I will keep using Sublime Text. No need to suffer needlessly.

Statistically speaking, assuming a normal distribution of intelligence, there is a specific percent where this generalization will start to apply. Now, I don't know what is this percent, but let's give it a name: the ChatGPT perce

What's the point of research if some new student can do it better than me, right now? What's the point of playing chess if Magnus Carlsen will beat me every time we play? This seems a bit absurd, but it's something I have fea

He probably wants to imply there are PC gamers who don't use steam at all. That's probably true. Now the question is, how many PC gamers use Steam and how many don't. And this is one big important piece of data I don't

No sir. You can't win both sides of the argument whenever it's more convenient for you. If you are going to write GNU/Linux, be consistent with its usage. Linux is the kernel. My OS is Ubuntu, not just Linux. Android is also

Java has a ridiculously fast new operator. Much faster than the one in C++. It works by allocating all or most needed memory at program start, instead of asking the operating system for it every time. But, as soon as you don't use heap

It's just another requirement. I don't see anything terrible or even bad with the requirement itself. Rate limiting is the new normal, in a post ChatGPT world. The implementation, of course, is atrocious and should be corrected. Y

Reading your comment makes me think it is not only a good idea, it is a necessity. Relying on crashing as a bug recovery system is a good idea? Crashing is just part of the workflow? That's insane, and a good argument against Postgr

I don't see anything wrong with using OBS for screen recording. I use it for streaming as well, but having it installed, I also use it for recording when I need it. Also for video capture from the webcam. OBS can do no wrong to me.

Finally!? I have a 5 TB external drive I bought many years ago, and despite its big physical footprint, the new drives still don't feel like a justifiable upgrade, given their elevated price for a small increment in storage.
