wxWidgets is as native as MFC. It is the same real controls, Win32 style. It is the only cross-platform library that uses native Windows controls. Qt? Emulated. GTK? Only native in Gnome, emulated on Windows. Even the new APIs, like WinUI,

> Upgrading GPUs out of cycle seems like it might make sense but you probably should just use a desktop PC for anything using a GPU. There are external GPU enclosures, so no need for a desktop, even for that case.

I remember, in some sense, Google (and also a group of anti Microsoft developers) encouraged web development as a strategy to break the Windows software monopoly. So it's not that Microsoft missed it, it is that a big shift happened an

I think it was more like: XP was Win2K with added DirectX and the skins. And yes, they started as the same kernel and drivers.

The universe is intelligent because we are part of the universe. And we are intelligent, given our current definition of intelligence. Otherwise, a rock will not be intelligent by itself. Or a mountain. Or a star.

The sun doesn't burn more quickly if we use it, but also not slower. The sun will start becoming a red giant and kill us all in about one billion years, long before this tidal lock will eventually happen.

This, while being an apparently superfluous complaint, would be important for eventual enterprise adoption. Other languages have failed for less visible reasons.

This can run very efficiently in a Virtual Machine. So many virtual machines run complex kernels and security features, for just one application listening on some port. While this is a toy operating system for some standard Desktop scenario

The thing is, IMO, everyone has a hiring problem. It is very easy to hire one bad player, and he takes the team down, and (in most jurisdictions) it is hard to lay them off. The reason is, no one who knows what it is required, wants to do t

So many people claim that. The advent of AI means they will not need to work. I just don't see it. They will need a job, they just won't be able to find one. It is not a utopia, it is a disaster.

The easiest way to perceive the superficiality of Sapiens is to read: Dragons of Eden by Carl Sagan, immediately after the former. Then you have the master to judge the (accidental) student.
