Borrow a stock worth $100, sell it, collect $100 cash. Buy stock back at a later date for $50 (You thought the price was going to go down right?), give it back to the original lender. You have now made $50. This is my (basic/primitive)

I'm familiar with directional audio (when playing games, 7.1 sound or w/e) and stereo sound (when listening to music), there is something that feels super immersive from some of the tracks. I've just spent 30 minutes listenin

This is absolutely amazing, and is one of the first things in a while where technology has made my jaw drop. A lot of these vids are a bit gimmicky, and over doing it, but this is so cool.

It being an app, downloaded from a moderated app store (albeit not a very well moderated one) rules out an entire class of attacks (phishing), which make up a large portion of online banking attacks. This alone is probably a decent competit

Monzo is awesome; they deserve all their success. They have single handedly forced banks to compete on UX, though Monzo still wins by a significant margin. Huge stat from the article; > And in terms of customer growth, extrapolating stat

The article estimates that 163 disabled people alone are killed by the police each year. That's an interesting statistic/estimation that I don't know what to make of. Of course I think you should treat the police with respect

It's a genre of video where a shitty harmonica version is dubbed over the original theme. I believe the jurrasic park one is the original; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w-58hQ9dLk "They do move in herds"

I like this approach; feels very unix-y in philosophy. I am in the position where I'm undoubtably going to need to become an adult soon, and the prospect of going back to traditional banks makes me ill.

Honestly; the HN community does a good job of self-regulating this behaviour. The consensus seems to be against these types of comments, as they are more often than not at the bottom of the post.
