Yeah, and who needs USB on a MacBook? Seriously though, why would you assume this? The article doesn't state it - it gives examples of both devices being damaged in different ways, but cites only Dell as actually designing their hard

What are you afraid will happen? That a JavaScript developer will get lazy and store function definitions in some globally-writable place, allowing untrusted logic to be injected into systems via some embarrassingly accessible route? Becaus

If you have breathing problems, getting out of Denver would probably be a good start. Air quality is pretty good for a city, but you're still surrounded by motor vehicle pollution pretty much all the time. The wildfires are probably

What an odd statement. Have you ever lived in a place where children routinely travel on the ground, barefoot? This would be a useful scenario to bring to the table here. Kids trapped in an attic... not so much.

Well, the other problem here is that you can't know for sure how you come off to others; again, they can't know whether your actions reflect ACTUAL offense any more than you can know the motivation for theirs; we can take you at y

How would you ever know? You can judge actions, moderate actions, reward actions... But feelings are harder to identify. Which was sorta the point of this article, I guess. There's a good chance that everyone is offended... So, what

So, this - the pile-on voting - is something folks get really frustrated about. Every system I've ever used that allows down-ranking has these regular screeds from one side or another about how the system is being ruined by gangs of li

Over the past few years, we've put together a couple of (reasonably short) guides to asking questions on Stack Overflow; if you're a beginner (or simply struggling to learn the Stack Overflow way of doing things), it wouldn't

Heh... Folks use software like f.lux to purposefully distort their displays in order to reduce fatigue. The ability to adjust the output to one's liking should not be confused with an inability to faithfully reproduce input.

I'm reminded of folks who ignore evacuation orders during a hurricane, latching on to any small lull as evidence that the storms will lift before it's too late. Of course, one tends to hear these stories after it is too late. No d
