Facebook HR also got the same question (with the same answer) in the company-wide forum this week. Did I miss some big news story that’s causing this to be on everybody’s mind recently?

Your insurance company used SQL? Luxury! My insurance company had everything in a collection of inter-linked Excel spreadsheets on a shared file server, millions of dollars a day being moved around with VBA macros :P (Though for the specifi

Anyone know if there are any open-source libraries which wrap this all into a usable `get_{tcp,udp}_connection(peer_id)` API, preferably with fallback to a relay server? I feel like there really should be, but nearly all the tools I’ve seen

You’re very optimistic to think that they’d allow reality to limit them :) The first time I was buying 18650 batteries I naievely went for the largest advertised capacity, and got some whose claims broke the laws of physics… (And of course,

I’m using mine as a frontend for a simple HTML5 online game, left unattended at a conference so that anybody can walk up and start playing. Any entry-level hackery can be fixed by rebooting, any more advanced abuse can be fixed by flashing

Speaking of building immutable images - I want to do that for one of my projects, but scanning the docs for buildroot and yocto, I don’t see anything about applying updates - which is the part where I most want an off-the-shelf battle-teste

Reading the actual document, I don’t see anything about “interoperability” implying “federation” - it’s more like “third-party clients must be allowed to use the same APIs as first-party clients”
