The voyager program was on a somewhat tight budget so I would imagine that had an impact. Having volatile memory is arguably a really good thing since it’s allowed them to patch the FSW on the vehicle in space a bunch of times, which a pret

The first part is fine because the search engine blurb isn’t a replacement for the thing itself. And I disagree with what ROM sites claim, you can’t just dump ROMs online and claim it’s not copyright infringement

The same benefit doesn’t exist for ChatGPT as Google because Google means people click on your site and you get ad revenue. Google even facilitates this in both directions with search ads and as an ad service you can get paid from for hosti

The fact that ChatGPT isn’t deemed copyright infringement is absurd. Like you can’t take the entire internet and use it to train your software and claim you’re not violating the copyright of thousands of people

Honestly it’s hard to fault people for that when even if you are a tech person there are huge parts of how a computer works that you will just accept as magic because it’s too complicated to understand. For example I don’t really understand

People use VISA because they like the convenience and assurance it gives them over cash or a bank transfer, both of which don’t have a fee. Crypto both has neither and is more expensive per transaction.

There was a paper written by all women that did this lol But that’s not the same because we live in a world where systemic harassment of women in academia by men exists and the reverse doesn’t. Other than the ideological issue of using a pl

I’m a little surprised we don’t have 3 factor auth since smartphones make this easy to implement 1- something you are: required bio scan on phone 2- something you know- required password 3- something you have- your phone with 2FA already se

It’s a little tricky because if someone cloned your voice first they could pretend they were you and stop you from using “their” voice, then do nasty stuff with it. This way they can still do that, but they can’t prevent you from using your

The answer we see is that if you put AI generated stuff in places people don’t look at too carefully they won’t care because they won’t notice. I’m not sure that’s great precedent

If you want your image processing algorithm to be optimized for the real world you should test against real photos. It’s not like we have a shortage of photos so synthetic data is absolutely necessary

From my understanding part of the issue is that people would use it as a test image for the sake of using Lena as a test image rather than actually picking a suitable image for their testing. I mean also this is a scientific publication whi
