IME, Safari lags horribly compared to Firefox WITH extensions. OSX just does not seem to provide intelligent ways to deal with memory management at the framework level. Not sure where the memory leaks are coming from, but on my 2013 iMac so

I also work in tech, I just don’t discuss anything remotely controversial IRL because it will end up offending someone. Recently, I made the mistake to actually speak what was really on my mind (when I was drunk) and I ended up getting phys

The problem is you are considered Anti-Semitic if you criticize the government of Israel. So you cannot even talk about it in public, or it will ruin your reputation and career. Edit: The karma of my comment proves my point.

The mediocrity comes from the “everyone gets a trophy” mentality. Overprotecting your kids feeds into that mentality as well. If everyone gets a trophy, why should you try harder than anyone else?

It’s unsurprising because Disney itself is a simulacrum. "The Disneyland imaginary is neither true or false: it is a deterrence machine set up in order to rejuvenate in reverse the fiction of the real. Whence the debility, the infantil

My understanding is that truly racist people don’t even acknowledge or mention races they despise. It’s a bit different if your grandfather (or parents for that matter) refuse to ever see you again because you’re dating someone from a race

Not sure how that conclusion isn’t obvious or self-evident. Obviously, if you have a high quality school with motivated students, chances are their achievement will be an order of magnitude higher than students at a poor quality school. The

That’s a false equivalency. The parent said that you won’t be put on a no-fly list for being morbidly obese. That’s not the same as the airline not being able to accommodate you because of your extreme body size.

It’s not surprising. The stereotypical American is obese and not too intelligent when it comes to dealing with that problem. See the whole “fat shaming” movement for a prime example of this.

I took Hydrocodone recreationally once, as I had some leftovers from my ribcage injury. Aside from enhanced dreams and occasional hypnogogia, I still didn’t really see the appeal. You can achieve the same euphoria with THC (IIRC, OPRM1 gene
