I think I had the choice of stainless or iron back in 2003 (U of S). They probably just had an old box of iron ones hanging around. They were pretty clear about the tradeoffs, the iron ones were traditional and symbolic, but they rusted and

I got mine in 2003 for a B. Sc in Mechanical Engineering, but since I ended up going to work at a software development company, I decided not to wear it - just felt wrong. This was a personal choice, YMMV :)

As a native mid-continent Canadian, I find it interesting that such large swaths of Canada are lumped together. For instance, I find the accent of Albertans quite distinct from Saskatchewan/Manitoba, and BC definitely so.

Try searching the web for 'Standard Operating Procedure software' or 'SOP software'. This is the terminology used in the nuclear/oil/utility industries to describe the type of software you're looking for. They have developed tools to handle

I remember being completely blown away back in the 90s when I installed BeOS on a Pentium - on Windows 9X the machine struggled to play a single RealPlayer video, whereas under BeOS I could run 30 or 40 videos simultaneously with each windo

You mentioned in your original post that pure visual programming languages have issues, and having a ton of experience with one (Simulink), I wouldn't disagree - especially as the 'codebase' size increases. However a hybrid visual/code appr

Thanks for the first hand feedback. What do you mean about 'not add new emails to your identity information'? I'm OK with missing out on the latest & greatest features/products. I also don't really care about Google+, if that's what you

Thanks, but that seems kind of backwards - that way you're using the free/unsupported gmail account as the 'front end' to relay incoming mail to your paid/supported Apps account. If you then call Google up to troubleshoot something, would t

Send your idea to support@github.com; I did that for a suggestion I had regarding the github UI, and got a nice response back in a day or two. They also confirmed that this is their desired way to collect feedback/suggestions.
