This isn't abuse, it's what the storage event was specifically made for. Facebook, Google, etc. have been using this event to update common state information between tabs for quite a while.

I made a library called async.js ( https://github.com/eligrey/async.js ) that makes it even easier to abstract away all callbacks with yields, so all you'd have to do is yield to.sleep(5); continueFun(); for your example. More complex thing

Another library that tries to make async code much cleaner is async.js ( https://github.com/eligrey/async.js#readme ). It uses yield and generators to abstract away the callback jungle. For example, you can easily condense tens of lines of

The Leap uses quite a lot of bandwidth, and yes, I'm sure it's USB 3.0 because it uses a micro USB 3.0 port, which is backwards compatible with micro USB 2.0 but physically longer.

Sorry, but what do stars have to do with it? That's like saying DuckDuckGo should be allowed to rename itself as Google if they become more popular than Google. https://github.com/caolan/async had zero stars (i.e. didn't exist) back when

That library uses callbacks and isn't really related other than the name. I don't think that the author googled async.js to see if the library name was already taken.

One way to escape callback hell is to use a async.js ( https://github.com/eligrey/async.js ), which uses yield to abstract away callbacks. It's Firefox-only (JS 1.7+) though, but that can probably be resolved by using a JS parser and replac

If there's only one action in the overflow button in the action bar, you make that the button . In this app, the only action in the overflow button is "Refresh", so the app should simply just have a refresh button there instead.
