If Google implemented !wiki → wikipedia.org they'd be facing a possible antitrust lawsuit (even though they can't be a monopoly as you don't have to use Google, US officials seem to think they are). Wikipedia isn't the only wiki.

Tip for being a better spammer: don't include a link to the topic article in every comment you make.

Chromium for Android is going to be open source, and the only difference between desktop Chrome and Chromium is branding and nonfree codec support.

I would like to note that there is a video editor app included in Honeycomb that is almost certainly going to also be included in ICS.

Any plans on supporting the extensions from PHP Markdown Extra, specifically definition lists, tables, and abbreviations? A good Markdown implementation that supports these is Discount ( http://www.pell.portland.or.us/~orc/Code/discount/ ).

This looks extremely insecure and dangerous to me. All you need is for a user to click anywhere or interact with anything on your page and you then have full access to their computer, given that you include a native plugin in your extension

"All data on your computer and the websites you visit" means that it needs to run native code, which can't be sandboxed.

This is nothing like a real byte stream, and is very misleading. The name implies that it's for data i/o, when in reality it's for mathematics.

To be fair, Google's updater doesn't run until the computer is idle for a certain amount of time.

The initial $185k USD fee is for TLDs, not DNS records on already existing TLDs.

Content-Disposition: attachment warning too. I hate when sites force me to save files when I can easily view them right in my browser.

Well actually on Android you can ask for no permissions up front, and then prompt for various single permissions later whenever appropriate, but this will lead to many confirmation dialogues that users probably won't like.

This rejects TLDs (e.g. http://io/ ) and IPv6 URLs.

If you visit any of those sites enough in Chrome, all you have to do is type a couple letters from the domain and then space or tab to search that site, given that they expose an OpenSearch Description. DuckDuckGo can't do this, as it stati

The only reason to use this is for scalable throbbers, and since you're only going to configure it once, it'd be much easier and more compact to just use a generated SVG+SMIL instead.

How else would one edit the image elements in the DOM of every website without access to the websites? That's like being upset that the AdBlock Plus Firefox extension that blocks traffic from ad servers needs access to your HTTP traffic.

The Cyrillic o isn't being interpreted as U+006F, it just looks like it. A UTF-8 decoder doesn't know how it's output is going to be used.

The backend for IndexedDB in Chrome is LevelDB, which is what Google uses internally for most of their webapps. That certainly shows that it's not just a half-assed NoSQL spec.
