An irc network can have several servers. If one goes down if the others are online you can connect to any one of them and still be ok. A net split will happen but they tend to resolve fast.

The standard would specify a minimum and then you'd be able to go up from that in multiples of it up to a different maximum. If that doesn't jive with the client the client can go screw itself.

Detrimental. Average Salaries plummet as more women join a field. They don't bargain for raise as much as men instead settling for less and thus drive prices down. Also more available labor pouring in will always decrease salaries.

This seems like an ineffectual measure. Instead of giving the domain to the individual nodes in the DDoS. I'd resolve it once and pound the IP until it changes. With a simple script curling the page and looking at the content to check

You could be a little bit more adversarial in the approach. Create several accounts, have them each message one another. Since you know the message and can use OCR, you can easily automate compensation for changes in the UI.

Have you considered minimum FS Cluser/Blocksize? Older versions of IE used to write cookies in plaintext files. So now you're wasting 4096 bytes for a few bytes of storage.
