I've not been able to find anything about it being debunked. Wikipedia[0] says > A 2012 study at the University of Rochester (with a smaller N= 28) altered the experiment by dividing children into two groups: one group was given a b

Isn't comparing JS to something like Java or Scala a bit misleading in this regard? They're completely different styles of language with different tradeoffs. I think it would be a lot more fair to compare to something like Python

I'm fairly sure object() also returns an object which is unique and distinct from all other objects. The only difference as far as I can see is that make_sentinel returns an object that has a unique and distinct type from all other o

The article is actually about how closely C maps to what is actually run on the hardware and whether hardware would look significantly different today if people didn't expect C to map closely.

I think that would be a fair point if the article was about whether or not we should call C a low-level language, but the article is actually about whether C maps cleanly onto what the machine actually does and what a machine might look lik

Except there's no real definition of what an IDE is, just a general gut feeling that we mostly agree on. VS Code is one of the things that people don't agree on, however, so some will say it is and some will say it isn't.

I've always felt that it was a bit of a shame that Fortran is falling by the wayside nowadays, a lot of universities are teaching C++ (or even C) instead now and it just isn't as pleasant to use for scientific computing work.
