700MHz is a mixed bag for rural coverage. Great for punching through trees, but need very tall towers to overcome destructive fresnel lens losses. Higher frequencies are usually better here + more gain!

Probably doesn’t help that the ethanol that gets (increasingly) blended with gas is pretty cheap while the seed oils blended with diesel aren’t. And the ethanol makes the fuel less valuable (energy reduction per litre) moreso than biodiesel

Hard to get a gps fix indoors. My guess is to infer it from OTA tv channel IDs and relative signal strengths. Wouldn’t need a big database and the transmitters don’t move much. See “datacasting” for data side. Would be 1-way so hard to know
