Great. You probably belong to the 70 % mentioned by OP.

Nice to see praise of my city. As a research software engineer I am in the top 1 % percent here so it is definitely a good career choice here. However, the cost of living is skyrocketing now in Prague compared to the rest of the country and

So far, those are only fluctuations affected mostly by speculation. We have to wait a few months to see the real effects.

As a European I believe that massive investments into defense are necessary. I hope that we start pulling our weight in NATO now.

Maybe in the future, but I don't believe it is THE problem right now. Those jobs in China aren't automated, it is still cheap human labor.

Maybe, but I had to implement Hoare partition scheme which is used in Quicksort a few months ago. If I didn't know Quicksort I wouldn't probably have an idea that this algorithm existed.

> Second round was kicking around a feature and its implementation with the team. I suppose it was a toy feature. Isn't it detrimental to the teams performance if all of them have to be present at the interview?

I've had 4 technical interviews in my life and passed all of them. I didn't practice for them, I just have strong foundations in CS. The most criticism of interviews comes from people who can't get past them.

Not sure about the stability. I am using Ubuntu for over a year and it's way less stable than Windows was. Sometimes I encounter crashes when suspending or waking up. I also encounter lots of minor problems. For me the Windows experien

This approach is dangerous in statistics and machine learning. Things often work on your toy examples but it may be for totally different reasons than you think and it can bite you later. Since it looks like it works to you, you will never

That's way too simplistic answer and not true in many cases. Does Donald Trump strive to be a president to get more women? I don't think thats his primary motivation.

Regarding the mentioned Moore's law, do we really have 1000 times more computational power on consumer devices than we had in 1996?

I agree with you. It certainly is following laws of physics (known and unknown) because everything is. It is a useful abstraction for a complicated system. However, it doesn't make it any less interesting for me.

I like this because it shows how important it is to understand the inner workings of the tools in your toolbox. It could serve as a nice example in some 'Languages and Grammars' course at the University for additional motivation.

Yeah, and the true fun starts when you try to debug it. Debugging streams in java is nightmare compared to debugging the same logic written in a simple foreach loop with a bunch of IFs.
