Disagree on using a lib? cause I guess doing manual DI is still DI.

Interesting, I interpreted the question completely differently, i.e. why use database at all? Maybe the wedding page has forms, needs to store data and author is most familiar with Java or maybe they are getting creative and are calling t

What do you use for routing and DI? do you use Jetty handlers or the servlet API?

I can see how DI will be overkill for a wedding website and Javalin/jdbi/sqlite is more than enough but for most business applications written in Java you really wish you had started with DI. Any DI libs you recommend for working

React is implemented using OOP, which I think is great for libraries that are defining and defending boundaries.

I can see how can that be the case if one never works with products that rely heavily on having a database.

async/await allows you to do multiple things in parallel. I don't see how you can do that in the virtual threading model When comparing to JS, it is the other way around. Unless you are talking about IO bound tasks only where no

React/nodejs is nice if you do SSR for everything too since you can use some hydration to improve the UX and write all your view code (server and browser) in a single place with the same language. Nodejs is a performant runtime and Rea

Most server side languages and/or frameworks will be written in faster languages than Javascript. Lots(most?)of server side apps are python, ruby, php or javascript.

sigh. any app based on SQLite with more than 1 million concurrent users, 75% reads. Definitely not the use case for SQLite unless you can easily do sharding but as you said, why bother?

The new edge computing fad. These companies need a way to bring the database to the edge too, so they are heavily promoting sqlite as the best thing since slice bread to sell their services as the one solution to all your problems :)

It wasn't until they moved to Cassandra that they were able to let the db do that job and work on adding the shit ton of features that exist today. But cassandra is still a nosql and doesn't give the constraints of something lik
