There are no tiers or different features, just their own sync service is a paid service, and the commercial license is paid but optional. Otherwise the free Obsidian has everything, and there are other plugins for self hosted syncing that d

Yeah I saw that too, but since it doesn't say how Ubuntu compares I assumed it was just a random fact they picked to put there. For comparison the Bazzite website is fantastic for making me interested in it because it explains a lot ab

I'm not really sure after reading through the front page why it's different from Ubuntu, it mentions flatpaks so that's one aspect. But there's no breakdown of what other major things are different, or why to pick it ove

Catch-all is definitely the way I prefer it, easier than having to generate an address with a service each time. Even better is bitwarden can generate random emails @mydomain.com automatically when creating a new login.

Oh good to know! Do you know if Caddy can self update or if is there some other easy method? Manually doing it to get the cloudflare plugin is a pain.

Caddy does have some bizarre limitations I've run into, particularly logging with different permissions when it writes the file, so other processes like promtail can read the logs. With Caddy you cannot change them, it always writes wi

I assume they're complaining that it's a snap vs flatpak, not so much vs the distro package repos.

I'd much rather have passkeys than the endless "email me a code" or "text me a code" crap we deal with today.

I just migrated to a new Bitwarden server using their JSON export/import and it included my passkeys.

Or just a docker-compose file, since it's already in container format.

This looks to be an executable that deploys podman containers for you, that is bizarre, and makes me question why it's called Unifi 'OS'?

Man at that point why not make it bigger and put a proper dB scale on it, at least it would be useful then.

Interesting that it says "Internet sending may be slower during peak times to keep things fair" even though it's supposed to be P2P? Maybe they just mean if you end up with a relayed connection due to NAT issues? Because lowe

Why isn't the focus on the local government who is allocating that much water without caring about the effects? Yes AI is wasteful, but if they couldn't get water they wouldn't build there.

Regardless of OS, if you don't have reliable backups then stuff like this will happen from software or hardware issues. Best to have automated system images nightly.

Surely this is a problem with the power company selling more power than they have available? It's not like a datacenter just takes power with no oversight, they have to be given a tie-in to the grid of a certain size first by the power

I feel like analyzing keystrokes or mouse movements is just going to punish people who use password managers that autofill for them. It does seem like I get more captchas when on sites because of that.

Yeah that's true, LEDs do need a closed loop for current regulation in a high efficiency setup, so might as well use it for dimming too.
