Tons of people use head tracking like this via TrackIR and similar setups, it's quite common for space or air sim games.

Unifi doesn't have any cloud requirements that I know of. But yes they are more expensive than the hardware you've got, at $100 per AP. For my needs unifi was worth it to not have to deal with OpenWRT again, or worse, stock firmwa

One of the first things I look for when trying out software is the "Updates" toggle. If it doesn't have a way to disable them, most of the time I'll go look for another option.

I'm on Zen which is still on FF 150.x right now, and I laughed a little when going to the Adafruit demo page and it says "Sorry, Web Serial is not supported on this device, make sure you're running Chrome 89 or later" ac

It's closed source and chromium based, it's also really ugly looking IMO. The Android version also doesn't support addons so that's a huge fail. I'll stick with Zen.

Maybe a VPS? Simple to manage and way cheaper. But really any service (or even on-site hosting) can have downtime, if that's not acceptable then I suppose building/using a tool that can be distributed between multiple hosts locate

I've been noticing this type of thing a lot lately, updates that plain don't work because of bugs that would have been caught with any testing, installers that don't work at all.. It's like coding with AI and not testing

I use Wholfin ( https://github.com/damontecres/Wholphin ) on my TV and it's really nice, it's meant to be familiar to users of Plex. On my phone I use Findroid ( https://github.com/jarnedemeuleme

Sometimes the people who set up the email service just forget or don't bother to add the receivers email to the URL parameter when you click unsubscribe, so it'll ask for your email again which is always an annoying step.

Looks like it uses AI to solve the captchas, but yeah some do require making an account in my experience.

Depends on the type of LiFePo4 cells, ones designed for higher power can easily do 5-10C or more. But that's not needed for a UPS. Most common high energy cells can handle 3C. 3C or 20 minutes of runtime would be in the realm of most U

I wonder where the 10MB came from, I checked on my browser and it's only loading about 1.5MB with cache disabled.

The difference is with this you have an entire browser (~500MB install) using typically 1000MB+ of RAM, to run this 35MB file. Whereas docker is quite small, uses very little RAM, and the image only grows because of what is included inside

I use one because of kindle unlimited, it's nice to have a big selection of books I can just hit 'read' on right on the kindle store. I don't know if the alternative e-readers have an equivalent store? Tracking down epub

Obsidian is at least storing in markdown. Although some plugins probably add additional formatting that isn't standard.

Backblaze offers 'unlimited' backup space, so they have to do this kind of thing as a result of that poor marketing choice.

Why would the military sign any agreement along these lines? It seems the polar opposite of what they would want.

What I don't understand is why a bot/scraper needs to load every page and image multiple times in the same hour or whatever session it's doing on my site. If I have say 10 pages and 100 images, surely 110 requests should be a

That's a weird take. There are plenty of professional use cases like quickly putting together a few short clips for social media shorts or whatever, that does not require anywhere near feature-parity with the big NLEs.

I had not used either before reading this thread, but omniclip has an odd interface, it's very unfamiliar to me compared to a standard NLE, and the loading time was quite long (maybe just HN load?).
