You can already order products on Alexa/Home. Home knows voices of specific users so it can accept or deny commands based on who is saying the words.

What does that even mean? Plant seeds, water, temperature is just how nature works. What other "paradigm" of agriculture is there? Maybe you mean everyone growing their own food? That's not sustainable.

HDR10 is the dominant standard and it supports that. The KS8000, arguably the most standard/common 4K TV of the last year, doesn't even have DV support. I'm not sure that will actually hurt them. Pretty much all TVs support H

Hah, if only that were true. That scandal would be so big that it would likely threaten Facebook's entire business as it would lead to lawsuits and Justice Department investigations. Facebook has a privacy policy and is required to abi

Now that Google has confirmed that they asked Apple to make this change I fully admit that I was wrong. I wish I could edit my post.

My comment is focused on Apple's behavior and not AMP specifically. I do know how AMP works. I don't like how Apple unilaterally changes the way that things work (even if that means AMP) without regard to any other parties.

Not AMP per se but just how Apple make sweeping changes by fiat without soliciting feedback that affect how standard technologies are used throughout the web. This is just another move they've made that will force whole industries to a

A lot of people are going to "cheer" this move but this is yet another anti-web move that Apple has made without regard to standards or how it will affect other areas of tech. Apple has a clear record of flouting standardized tech

If you have to remember to use arbitrary bangs to get specific results then DDG has already failed as a search engine. Coding a query yourself is obviously the most powerful way to search documents, but the key to useful software is to do t

You can currently only use web based IDEs or Android based IDEs in Chrome OS. There are some good web ones (Cloud9) out there and even a few Android based ones (AIDE). You won't be running any Windows or Linux IDEs though (because Chro

You are just fear mongering. USA's debt to GDP ratio is not a problem for our economy or anything else and won't be for a very long time. The US economy is growing fast enough that the debt-to-GDP has no effect on our stability as

It's not going to be easy to just put Google Photos on Android TV. Android TV has no concept of accounts or privacy so the only way it could really work right now is to either open up the entire user's photos to anyone currently u

This really does just seem like 2FA with extra steps. You can't add N factors to multi factor authentication by adding more accounts. That's just lightly strengthening the first factor (something you know which is a few different

So instead of hacking 1 email/account they would just hack 2 or 3? I don't think that is adding any real security as those accounts would still just be protected by regular passwords. It makes it a tad bit harder for a hacker but

That's not fair to the manufacturer. No company on Earth can fix security holes in every version of their software that's ever been released. It would take a small nation's GDP to do that. Even Linux doesn't fix security

Video calls work somewhat over 3G and work great over 4G. People just don't want to use a video call. It's a sociological problem and not a technical one and 5G isn't going to change that.
