I have used Angular since version 5. I have never had any major issues or problems with it. Think of it this way: GraphQL, Docker, and Kubernetes solve problems that very, very, very few GIANT tech companies have, but not every app will sca

Never bothered to learn GraphQL - anything being pushed by big tech companies usually in 80% of the cases works for them, but its an overkill for smaller scale projects. Stick to tried and true - monolith, asp.net, angular or blazor front-e

Nope, its what I do. Same with kubernets/microservices/insert-buzz-word - if I see a lot of evangelists praising it - then I know for sure to stay away. :) Yes, I am aware that .NET is popular, but there are always exceptions.

I never, ever bothered to learn React. Stuck with .NET/C#. If I have to write web UI, I use Angular, Blazor, and Razor MVC. React never made any sense to me, and the more I saw people using it, the more it reconfirmed my belief that it

Similar experience. Around '96-97 I was playing with writing fire effects in Turbo Pascal, most of the tutorials used the asm with mode 13h, and all I had was Turbo Pascal 5.5, which didn't support the asm keyword. So, I dabbled a

BBBBBBBBBBBBBBINGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Yes, at the end of the day, businesses use software in LOB apps. Period. Get shit done. WebForms/ASP.NET MVC/.NET Core MVC/Blazor will outlive ANY js framework.

Yeah, I don't care about power consumption. There is no 'serious' computers coming out of Apple for quite some time now - just glorified consumption devices :) Can Apple sillicon run Dota2@200fps or Visual Studio (Not CODE!)

Yes, when I was buying this PC beginning of the year I was consdering 7900X, 7950X and 7950X3D. At the end chose the 7950X, super happy about it. Absolute beast.

Carmack said he is using Visual Studio - the full, big, freaking IDE. Not Visual Studio 6.0, but the latest version ( I assume 2022). So, to repeat Carmack IS NOT using VS Code, but the full Visual Studio on Windows. Amen.

The TDP of the 5900HX is 45W. Don't forget we are comparing last-gen AMD vs current gen M2. M2 on Mac makes 1884/8717, but on Paralles -> 1681/7260. So, the penalty is 11% on single, 17% on multi because of running on Wind

Strange to see VBA and Objective-C so low on the list. Worked with both - nothing scary there. The Fantastic Seven - C#, Python, TypeScript, C++, Go, SQL, F# - covers 99.99% of your programming language needs. :)

Enough of those half-assed attempts at an "OS". Either use Windows with WSL2, or Debian, or FreeBSD with some GUI, or MacOS. Regardless of what OS you use - you will be using a Browser, Terminal, File Manager and VS Code/Ride
