I understand and am close to agreeing with you, but I feel an obligation to be difficult. It’s HN (and the internet) after all. Plato and others famously pondered over “why be good?”. If nobody sees you, if you get away with everything, why

Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification. I was going for “less capable at X”, but an emperor is quite a big job so he’s better at 75% of things that actually matter in practical life: planning, strategizing, managing, coercing, negotiating.

While I believe in equal value of human life, I don't think we are in any way equal in abilities both inborn and acquired. People like Aurelius are rare and dismissing him and his accomplishments as "rich people have it easy"

I don't think "modern" stacks are sane enough to "handroll" anymore. Sure, you can do it, but look at the poster in this thread that details the setup of a debian server. Kubernetes, "Argo CD", zero-trus

Makes me think of the Freud/Jungian notions of personas in us that are in various degrees semi-autonomously looking out for themselves. The “angry” agent, the “child” agent, so on.

I was hoping for some sort of audio stream to listen to my database changes. High notes for inserts, low rumbles for reads or something. That could be pretty interesting actually.

No, because I am less capable. It’s sometimes simple like that. He wasn’t “rich people” like some Russian oligarch. He had shit to do and deep moral obligations. Millions of lives depended on it. Things of vast strategic importance stretchi

That sounds like it would complicate life, not make it easier? His wealth and power is predicated on him being the leader of the friggin’ Roman Empire. I don’t see that as an easy life. Being an emperor and even trying to do a good job is d

Structure in the “world”? You mean the stream of “tokens” we ingest? This just comes down to giving transformers more modalities, not just text tokens. There is nothing about “2” that conveys any “twoness”, this is true of all symbols. The
