For the absolute lightweight, there is vi, eMacs, nano, etc. For a UI I’ve been using VSCode. It is quite quick when you disable all extensions and most settings.

What’s nice about Dependabot is that it works across multiple languages and platforms. Is there an equivalent to govulncheck for say NPM or Python?

This is not unique to Facebook. Reddit has seen a large uptick in AI-generated posts, or repeated posts from the past. I think we need to recognize that social media of 2026 is not the same as what we had in 2006. AI generated content, rega

Benefits are rarely a decider IMO. Unless you need certain health care or there is something terribly unusual. The only time in my career I considered a benefits package was for a University that offered 12% 401k matching up to 100% of your

This seem like an odd take. Android has bugs too, you just haven’t used it long enough to notice.

Docker has a large cold start time usually, sometimes it can take up to 10 seconds for a dockerized Python lambda to invoke. Are there solutions for that, that include docker?

Calculators are widely available for a low cost. The logic behind most calculators is able to be consistently duplicated across a variety of manufacturers, thereby lowering the cost to produce these to the masses. LLM’s are not consistent.

Something often left out is the dependence on LLM’s. Students today assume LLM’s will always be available, at a price they (or their companies) can afford. What happens if LLM’s suddenly change their cost to be 1000 USD per user per month?

The neat part is you can do whatever you want in a GitHub action, corporate policy be damned. So: git clone <tmate / banned action git URL> cd <the action> Run the action start point. Apparently this is a feature, not a sec

I wonder if this will cause new legislation to be created, and new government bodies like the FDA. If this becomes available to many homes, what is to stop a hacker from programming this humanoid to kill its owners?

It is worth noting that RED is particularly difficult to get a decent ratio on. Spend some time googling reddit posts, there are plenty of examples of people not being able to build solid ratios due to competing with scripted bots.

This is an excellent point. For example, here [1] is a list of all films released in 2025. However I bet most people 10 years from now will only remember the top 10-20 [2]. [1]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ame

It does make me wonder: why are aircraft takeoffs and landings not recorded more often, with higher quality cameras and more angles? If I can watch an NFL replay in 4k a few seconds after the ball is snapped, why not record (and overwrite)

You’re going to give your tax data - some of the most sensitive data to some constituents - to OpenAI / Google / some other startup? That seems like a nightmare of a product as far as privacy is concerned.

You can run it natively, but it is better to downscale to 4k or 1080p. I run three 5k versions of this monitor and they are all downscaled to 1440p. I get 1:1 pixel mapping so text looks crisp in every app except Microsoft Teams.
