I mean, you're free to make up your own definition, but it won't be shared by the vast majority of other people. From the Wikipedia article: [1] > Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a dystopian futuristic setting tha

I don't think it's just "neon lights and robots" that make it cyberpunk. It's the combination of high tech and lowlife, the grungy city streets, the street food, the rain, and the urban East Asian elements. All of t

Set a calendar notification for Friday, January 15, 2027 8:00:00 AM GMT. Woah, is that weird that it's exactly on the hour? ...I guess not so weird, since 180 is divisible by 60.

Because it's numbers, which are sortable, you can ask which is the least member of a set. If a set of positive numbers doesn't have a least member, does the set exist? There's a similar paradox which asks what the smallest nu

I've always felt 2 was the most important as well, if only because for there to be something (1) there has to be nothing (0), and thus the existence of anything defines 2 states, being and non-being. Without the pair (0, 1) there is no

What? The idea that chess engines have stopped improving is ridiculous. StockFish is continuously improving. And is not just better hardware. For instance, just a couple of years ago StockFish added NNUE. This actually decreased the number

I don't know. To the extent that Musk had a plan at all with his $44B Twitter purchase, a big part of his idea seems to be that he wants X to be the next banking app/Venmo. Venmo is valuated at something like 40 billion dollars, a

I think I agree with you there. But again, the idea of a "salt" is then overcomplicating things. It's exactly the same to have the client generate a GUUID and just send that up, no salting or hashing required.

I'm not sure the distinction is meaningful. If the police demand your logs to find out whether a certain IP address visited in the past year, they'd be able to find that out pretty quickly given what's stored. So how is priva
