Yeah, back in the day, I remember being impressed by one such insightful article shared on HN but the others were almost always “wtf is he saying?”

That’s what I thought too but I went and reread that part. He’s saying something else. The American companies like Google/OpenAI (trying to export AI globally) are on one side, opposing them are Europeans (who want AI to be controlled,

I read through the full article and the cognitive leaps the author makes are too big for me to follow. It’s like listening to a mad scientist connect totally unrelated (seemingly) events. E.g., I don’t at all understand the linkage between

If people only want to listen to experts, then “experts” in poverty will emerge who can honestly talk about the travails of the poor. Why do we need a journalist to act as society’s eyes when the afflicted part itself can speak? Journalism

I don’t think what is stopping someone from marketing is the lack of tools or templates or guides to follow. Unless the root cause is addressed - which is my case was that there seemed to be no direct connection between marketing effort and

I don’t know what ANN is but your comment raises two questions in my mind - 1. Where did your first vector of [0.99, 0.3, 0.7] come from? You later present the concept of user vectors which are vectors for different cohorts of users but d

If my understanding and explanation are directionally correct, I’m happy. I’ll be the first one to admit I’m not a data scientist. Do you have a good example of how an actual data scientist would present the idea of vectors as applied to se

I’m not a data scientist but I think I know why one document could lead to many vectors. (Happy to be corrected and/or schooled.) A vector is a list of numbers each of which represents weight accorded to a certain word along a certain

Do you have a non-trivial example of this? I tried to make GPT-4 create an algorithm for an enhanced tic-tac-toe game (think Wordle vs Quordle to somewhat visualize the difference) and it's failing miserably.

I can see your point of view. Personally, if I find that my app is similar to an ongoing Show HN, I like to wait for an opening where I can respond with a plug for my own app. I don't feel comfortable talking up my own app unprompted.

I feel it is impolite to hijack someone else’s Show HN to promote your own, like-for-like product, that too as a top level comment. Not sure about HN norms around this though.
