Password managers are adding support (as in they control the keys) and I've used my yubikeys as "passkeys" (with the difference that I can't autofill the username). It's a good spec. I wish more people who spread FU

Well, yes, but also no. It was a hardware design change that necessitated a software hack (to escape mandatory retraining of pilots) that relied on unreliable hardware, right? Sure, software played a big part in it, but I think it seems lik

It's not just via the GUI. I have a script (which uses their API and SDK) that I run every month to delete the next batch until it runs into the deletion limit and a calendar reminder every month to run the next batch. AWS limits are w

There is a huge difference between "document history is stored locally" and "works offline". The local-first movement might sometimes talk about privacy and offline availability in the same breath, but those are very dif

It sort of does. Not in a strict semantic sense, but I don't think any user of a service that says it stores stuff "locally" expects it to upload that to somewhere else without explicit consent. It sounds like your interpreta

I don't think this is anything novel about the ukraine conflict. Any conflict within the last decade or so would have dealt with the same issues.

Ah, I misunderstood which part was a problem on wayland. I haven't used either xdotool or ydotool much, and for automating stuff that is in a browser I have used the browser APIs instead.

X11 was neither developed for or is a part of linux. Like I get the folks who consider the GNU userland tools to be a part of the "linux"-and-stuff-we-expect-to-be-bundled, but X11 is pretty separate. Either way screen recording i

Yes, typescript allows you to do that. It is entirely voluntary and you can do untypesafe things in almost any typed language. I'm not sure how that makes typescript "not typed".
