Last posted 2 years ago, and reposts are not discouraged on HN if enough time has passed. Also seems like the sort of project that might be "done" and then not need to be touched unless WP breaks compat.

So walking back to the comment ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=40543839 ) this started at: > It’s pretty much like Caddy vs. nginx: Language runtime, static asset serving, TLS, routing and so on bundled in a single

Right, but the parent comment seemed to imply that the same was true for caddy. I was asking what caddys language runtime was (besides via plugins like frankenphp)?

A simple system is built so that not many parts are intertwined and hard to understand how it is built. A easy system might be very complexly built, but presents and easy interface for you to use. If complex it would be hard to understand h

Do you mean simple or easy? It seems like you actually mean to say easy.

You are a primate ape. Literally. I'm not sure what is so hard about this, the parent poster referred to a set (primate ape) that includes both humans and many other apes. If they are not part of that set then it would surprise me.

But nginx also supports FastCGI, and you need to run the FastCGI server as a separate process (like php-fpm), right? I don't see how caddy (without stuff like frankenphp) is any closer to a complete single binary reverse-proxy AND lang

What is caddys language runtime? Which languages does it support? Or are you thinking of the frankenphp plugin?

Youtubers often change titles to try out which ones drive views. It's possible that the post title was the view title previously.

I feel like the site is somewhat deceptive then... Using phrases like "Stop reading docs. Start shipping.", "As easy as using the localStorage." "Just 3 simple steps." implies something else. What you are sayin

Have you talked with cloudflare about this? Lets say you become a huge hit and megaupload or vimeo or someone else with massive traffic (but not on the "we built our own datacenters and ISP CDN" level) start using your service. Wh

But this library is supposed to also be a client-side library, right? I think as soon as you start doing all of the auth checks for CRUD, etc. it becomes almost as complex as the alternatives. If the point is just a "everyone can do ev

I was mostly replying to the implication that apple would be using anything other than primate apes for QA. What other species/order than primate apes do you think would be suitable for apple QA?

That's the default way to use OpenStreetMap, either with vector or raster tiles. I'm guessing these apps did it this way for a reason, probably to support the offline usecase and not need a separate way to do it.
