If your server is on the internet with a public ssh server then it is probably providing some sort of internet service. That internet service is almost always easier to DoS than your openSSH server. If you are not providing a internet servi

Wasn't there a very long time that the Pi wasn't fully supported on mainline? And it's boot sequence is still a bit weird in that the GPU handles bootstrapping?

At least in that case they probably need to pay (some of) that into the multiple patent pools for HEVC. It's the corporate centipede of microtransactions. HEVC is a garbage fire from a rights/patent perspective.

Absolutely, but the format described is neither TSV or CSV. That's perfectly fine, but don't call it CSV or TSV if it does not handle the specified ways that those work.

I get what you are saying, but my point is that is not CSV or TSV. It's a homemade format with its own rules that just happens to be inspired by TSV or CSV.

"Most of the time" does not mean much. If you need to handle those cases then you need to handle them, regardless of how often they appear. It's not like we'd use a JSON parser that said "yeah, nobody nests 10 array

You'd still need escaping/encoding of those characters since they can appear in a record. There is no escaping of this fact, if you have a storage format you need to be able to store records of that format within the format, so yo

If you propose to use a TSV parser that does not handle escaping then that sounds very unsafe to me. Do you also want to skip checking for escaped newlines? Or escaped backslashes? What you are proposing is not using TSV, but a format that

It's not easier or simpler since you need the exact same checks and steps, just with a different delimiter. It doesn't matter if you need to do them less times for certain inputs since you need the same checks, the same encoding

Ah, so what you actually mean is more performant (for a subset of uses), not simpler? So if I have a TSV and a CSV containing either pure numbers or complex data (say the contents of each file in a codebase where each row likely contains bo

But you always need to have the code for escaping and you always need to check for it. I don't see how an implementation can be simpler without dropping support for tabs within columns, which would make it non-conformant to the spec.

How is TSV more simple when it just uses another delimiter? Seems like the exact same processing is needed.
